DESCRIPTION:
Sextants- 3 (Three) Brandis & Son Boxed Sextants: Brandis & Sons Inc., New York, for U.S. Navy, 6 inch sextants, signed on index arms, pierced metal frames with black satin finish, brass arcs with U.S. Navy serial numbers and inset graduated silvered scales, knurled vernier adjustment, index magnifiers, multiple shades for horizon and index mirrors, wood handles, all in finger-jointed mahogany boxes, two with old paper labels.
CONDITION:
all three instrument sets are missing pieces. Silvered dials are tarnished. Certificates of inspection from U.S. Naval Observatory are dated, 1919 and 1936. Dimensions are for wooden box. Sold "as is ".
